Tomica (トミカ?) is a flagship toyline of the toy company Takara Tomy that was established in 1970. The primary focus of the toyline has been small die-cast vehicles, but it has expanded to large plastic vehicles and toy trains such as a Thomas the Tank Engine toyline.
In 2006, Tomica launched its Hyper Rescue line, a set of large toy vehicles, some of which were loosely based on real police, rescue and fire fighting vehicles used by Japan's special rescue team of the same name. Some of these toys served as the basis for the mecha of the Tomica Hero Series and the mecha were themselves made into toys as part of Tomica's Tomica Hero Toyline.
